Personal Profile

Stagecoach Studio was founded by Colleen Nicholas in 2002.

I began life as an actress with Durban’s “The Loft Theatre Company”. After a two year period I entered into the corporate world working in real estate, lifestyle and fitness and my own interior design company. However, my love of the theatre and teaching drew me back to my passion. I worked for ACT Studio for two years before venturing out on my own and establishing Stagecoach Studio.

Stagecoach Studio is currently, an independent appointed Speech and Drama studio at four schools in the greater Durban area. We teach from Grade 00 [age 4] to Grade 7 [age 12 to 13 years old].

My objective when establishing my studio was to have an intimate studio and be involved in teaching the classes and personally knowing each student and encouraging them to reach their full individual potential. Ms Trikam joined our studio in 2003 and has been a loyal and exceptional speech and drama specialist teacher sharing the studio ethos.

Further duties include maintaining excellent relations with all staff members and parents. The administration of Stagecoach Studio. The creation of scripts, props, set design and the direction and production of all end of year concerts, nativity plays and pantomimes.  The preparation of all course work and the execution of it in the classroom. Continual assessment and appraisal for each Stagecoach Studio student.

My favourite adage is “One life, Live it”

In conclusion we are committed to growing confident young students by teaching these very important life skills.
